Tell us about yourself.: The creative process is so important to my way of thinking and living. It's got to be embedded in my genetic code. As a young child, my Mom gave me a box of crayons and butcher's paper to keep me busy and her sane... little did we know how important this activity would play in forming my life's vocation. After graduating from University of Maryland, College Park, my first loan was to purchase a 550 pound combinaton press so I may continue with my work as a printmaker. My studios have been in a spare bedroom, front parlors, horse barn, loft and presently, in a converted mill building (my first waterfront property). I paint outdoors as well where the world is my atelier. These two mediums are the antithesis of each other... my reduction linoleum prints take anywhere from three to six months, indoors, to complete and my paintings three to four hours, outdoors, to complete. I am at my happiest working on my art projects either in the studio or out.
My wish: that the world would move away from it's destructive ways towards a creative construction with reflection and quietude. The world needs more poets, more musicians, more painters working side by side with a supportive government and an appreciative audience.
